Great Lakes Collaborative for Autism Mission
The best interest of families affected by autism is the heart of all we do. Our mission is to enhance the lives of Northwest Ohio families touched by autism by building awareness and support, through private fundraising and grant opportunities, and foster community partnerships.
Our Focus
Work together with persons with autism, their families, caregivers, and other organizations, agencies, and individuals in the Northwest Ohio region to bring a positive change and a future full of opportunities for all touched by autism:
- Raise public awareness, support and promote understanding about what autism is and how it affects the lives of individuals and families in the region
- Monitor the needs of the community and advocate to fill program and service gaps
- Facilitate cooperation and collaboration to build trust and strengthen relationships among community organizations
- Work with community organizations to identify collaborative endeavors that will provide the highest quality of care and support for all those affected by autism
- Promote and provide support for exemplary services and training in education, care, support and life opportunities for persons of all ages with autism, as models of innovation and excellence in practice
- Influence policy and practice to ensure the best possible education, care, support and life opportunities for persons of all ages with autism in the region
Our Vision
Northwest Ohio is a place where those affected by autism have the opportunity to thrive, where ASD services and support across the lifespan are easily accessible, coordinated, integrated, complimentary, sustainable and of the highest quality.
Our community is a place where individuals with autism and their families/caregivers are greeted with encouragement, embraced with understanding, and appreciated as valuable members of society.
