ASD Support @ BGSU
Bowling Green State University is proud to offer a new program designed to meet
the unique needs of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who are
students at BGSU. The ASD Support @ BGSU program is a collaborative effort
by the Office of Disability Services, the School of Intervention Services and the
Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. The program uses a support model for college students on the spectrum.

The program offers a variety of individualized services, including assessment,
intervention, and ongoing support at a variety of levels. Students may receive
intensive one-on-one support, group support or occasional short-term problem solving assistance dependent on their need. Areas of need may include:

- Socialization
- Communication
- Assistance with specific academic needs
- Organization and general planning
- Problem solving
- Working with instructors to most effectively use accommodations
- Locating appropriate services and resources for other types of needs, including mental health concerns.
