Volunteer for Give Autism the Boot!

Each year, The Great Lakes Center for Autism (GLCA) presents a community wide awareness building and fund-raising campaign , Give Autism the Boot! (GATB).   This campaign was developed and executed for the first time in 2006 by the GLCA.   The primary concept of GATB is to place local rescue workers along with civilian volunteers in high traffic stores and strategically located intersections to collect donations.  GATB secures corporate sponsorships, in kind donations, local media support, and volunteers in the community to run this two day event.  Nearly all money collected is distributed right back into the local community to provide additional services, programs and support for families affected by autism.  Since 2006, the GLCA through the Give Autism the Boot! campaign has distributed over $400,000 to 18 different organizations that serve those affected by autism.

Volunteering is fun, easy, and rewarding!  All money that is raised from the Give Autism the Boot campaign is put to use serving families affected by autism right here in Northwest Ohio.   Every dollar raised has a direct impact on your neighbors, friends, family, and community.  We need your help each year to make Give Autism the Boot a success and continue to provide support to families in our community.  Just a couple of hours during a Friday or Saturday can make all the difference to a family!

Give Autism the Boot 2011 will be
Friday, June 24th and Saturday, June 25th
so mark your calendar!
